RC5 is a long term project intended to highlight weaknesses in current encryption schemes. It is hosted, in part, by RSA Labs. The project is currently working on cracking a message encrypted with RSA's RC5-64 bit encryption scheme, hence the name. When the message is broken, it will clearly be time for a more secure encryption scheme that will better protect everyone's privacy.

A US$1,000 reward has been posted by RSA Labs for the person whose computer finds the winning key.
