We're crazy about shakers! 

The Golden State Shakers is a club of novelty salt and pepper shaker collectors that serves mostly Southern California.  Our  members usually get together three times each year.  We also hold a mini-convention in March or April in Visalia, CA with the Northern California chapters which is great fun! 

 At our meetings we share our interest in, and knowledge about novelty salt and pepper shakers.  Our meetings are usually held in the homes of our members or close to one of us from about 10am till 2pm on Saturdays or Sundays.


     During our meetings we get a chance to catch up with our fellow collectors, check out each other's collections and see how they are displayed.  Mostly, we buy and sell shakers with each other though.  We normally enjoy a potluck lunch, while we share information about our latest finds.  There is a "theme" shaker contest, and a raffle with prizes (usually money to buy more shakers with)!
    

Our annual chapter dues are $10 per family, which includes spouses and children who may also be collectors.  Dues are paid at or before the first meeting of the year.  We are very informal but do have a formal business meeting.  Most of all, we just LOVE shakers!

  Have you have been left a collection of salt and pepper shakers and don't know what to do with them?

Donate the shakers to our club!

  We would love to accept any donations to use in our club.  It is a way to support our younger collectors.  This is one way that you'll know they are sure to honor the memory of the collector.  They'll be sure to "shake" into the lives of people who will love and appreciate them.  They should be proudly displayed and not in a box hidden in the attic.  It may be a young collector just starting out and all the love that went into your loved ones' collection can help start a new journey of discovery for a new collector.
