Madeleine Picciotto received
a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University in 1985. She is the
author of Critical Thinking: A Campus Life Casebook
(a textbook for first-year university students), as well as academic articles
and literary translations. She has taught writing and literature at a variety
of institutions, including Princeton, Spelman College, UCLA, Oglethorpe
University, and the University of Massachusetts. She has been at the Warren
College Writing Program of U.C. San Diego since 2000, teaching courses in
academic argumentation. She also teaches in the Warren College Honors Program
and directs the Warren College Writing Center, which offers academic support to
students at all stages of the writing process.
