Sho.gun PC

Well I finally got around to taking some pics of this thing, I finished it back on December of 2001 but until now only had some cheap webcam shots of it. Just some useless information, today I'm supposed to be at school and work, but I'm not. Why? Because I missed the stupid train... my dad got me to the station and right when I opened the car door I saw the train start moving. Then the conductor was just standing there looking at me, stern faced, as if saying "I'm sorry" but not showing it. So then... I'm here at home. After 4 hours of Counter-Strike I figure I'd do something productive. So yeah, here goes:

Specs:

Maximize your window cuz I suck with HTML, even with FrontPage!

Front shot of the comp. I made the baybus thing myself using switches from the local Radio Shack. The thing is... they're supposed to light up when they are on the "on" position, but they don't because they were meant for 115V AC. Well... they look pretty spiffy anyway. The one on the left is for the set of blue Lazer Leds I have on the interior, the middle one is for the UV Cold Cathode, and the far right is for the 2 120mm NMB intake fans. I painted the DVD drive and CD-RW drive using some silver vinyl dye from Pep-Boys. The power LED has been changed to a super-brite blue LED, and the HD activity LED to a super-brite red LED. You can't really see it in the pic but they're pretty bright.

That's my cheap subwoofer on the back.

Same pic, except darker, and there's a cool motion blur action going on.
Close up of the drives. I shoulda turned the flash on... but yeah you can see how the NewQ stands out like an albino in Africa. I want to paint it but they have writings on it  and I don't want to cover them up. The LED inside the DVD drive was replaced with a 3mm blue one so whenever its active, it lights up blue. I didn't change the CD-RW light because it's a dual color and I'm not sure where to get those.
This is the side of the comp. As you can see it looks like there's a rainbow in there from the colorful cables and whatnot.Well, not the prettiest and neatest thing ever but it'll do. The fan on the back is an 80mm Panaflo blowing out the air from the CPU area, right under that is a Lazer Led and there's another Lazer Led under the power supply. I just noticed how cool it is to see the fans not moving, the comp was on when I took the pictures. I got some of those RAM coolers for my memory and stuck the heatsinks on my KyroII.
This is what it looks like when the lights are off. It's actually a lot brighter  except the cheap digital camera is blind or something. Those Lazer Leds are very very very bright, I recommend replacing your local sun with them.
Here are the 120mm NMB fans. They move a LOT of air when on, but they also clean my floor very well, resulting in a very dusty computer. So I devised a ghetto fan filter using Bounce dryer sheets, it cuts the air flow but my comp isn't as dusty anymore, it also makes the room smell good. I got the fans from a beef jerky shop (ask Xsiled2) and connected them together to the baybus. The fan blades are also painted with glow in the dark paint, they glow a pretty green when the UV cold cathode is on.
Another picture of the fans, no flash this time so it adds to the rainbowness.
This is the inside of the case with Lazer Leds turned on, it's really pretty. Here you can see the RAMs they are covered with a blue Thermaltake RAM cooling system that I believe does nothing but make it look better. That's the Thermaltake 60mm fan on top of a Thermalright SK6, well you can't see it but it can see you. Be scared...
View from the side. You can see the handle thing I got from Home Depot and the lock I put on the door. Yeah, that took a lot of time actually, the first Lucite sheet I bought for the door cracked while drilling a hole for the hinges, after another $12 it turned out okay I guess.
When I turn the UV light on, my neighbor kills a fairy. I put some glow in the dark paint on the side of my video card, haven't gotten around to put some on the sound card yet. There's also some glow in the dark paint on the plastic heatsink holder for the northbridge chip on the SOYO, you can kinda see it. What's kind of cool is that all my cable ties glow green when the UV is on. The bottom 120mm fans also glow.
A shot of the top side. I cut a hole on top of the case with the dremel and bought some car door siding from Pep Boys to line the sides with. Then I put on the top window leaving some space in between so that hot air can come out. This area gets pretty dusty though, but it keeps the temps down so its worth it. Those gold thingies are just some random thing I found at Home Depot, they look pretty cool though.
A shot of the computer from the right side, I just cleaned it so it doesn't look so bad, normally that door gets kind of dusty.
Left side of the computer, that big round thing is a vent that comes with the case. You can turn it around to open/close it, I think I'm going to paint that and put on my own picture or something.
My logitech mouse, I put a blue LED on the back of it so it shines out. The thing is very bright and doubles as a flashlight when the room is dark. It also stays on 24/7 even though the computer is off because it's drawing power from the USB. My mouse is about to beat up the black mag-light on the top right corner.
I tried turning off the flash but the camera still doesnt capture the brightness of the LED :(
This is my keyboard. I actually got it for free when Swiftboard was giving them away. I heard about it from G|A and signed up. Anyway, I painted it silver with vinyl dye and that night when I took it to a LAN party a friend of mine dropped it, so it has some scuff marks and scratches now.
This is my glowpad that I'm still working on. My keyboard normally rests on that thing and my mouse on the right side. I painted the Lucite silver so the optical mouse can track, then I sprayed it with some liquid teflon so it's pretty slick. If you don't know what a glowpad is, it's actually a clear pad with LEDs inside of them so it makes the edges glow when dark. I have 3 superbrite red LEDs in mine and at night it looks pretty cool. I bought a DC adapter from FRYs and hacked it up to make a power supply for this. It's under my desk and from the power supply I run a phone cable and plug it in on the glowpad.
This is the mouse area, plenty of room but sometimes my mouse slides off when playing Counter-Strike. As you can see there's a picture of Alvin there. I'm in the process of etching that picture on the glowpad so in the end it will also glow red.

Okay I'm done that took an hour... time to study some chemistry I guess.
