I have recently learned that if you live in Vermont and want personalized licensed plates for your car, you won't be able to get John 3:16 or JN36TN or any variation of the Bile scripture. It seems that you can almost get anything you want, EXCEPT if it relates to Jesus or ANY Bible verse. WHAT HAS THIS COUNTRY BECOME? The separation of Church and State SUCKS! The state NEEDS the Church!!! More Info. (9/16/07)
We can get too involved in our respective teams. We have discussions (sometimes heated) on Why, How, Who makes "My Team Better Than Your Team" we should never forget that it is, after all, just a sport. We need to enjoy
it as something that only lasts for a few hours. Yesterday's trajedy in Minneapolis should be a stark reminder of this fact. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families. Read the Story. (08/03/07).
Well, it only took about 21 days for the hot dog boycott. You CANNOT pass up a $1 hot dog at a baseball park. What are normally, like, $20...Anyway it was good. But what was even better is that the Anaheim Angels lost again. (7/26/07).
Ok, I found the training camp schedule on ESPN. Here they are by AFC and NFC. These are a lot more detailed than the Yahoo schedule below, as expected. (07/12/07).
It's odd that I couldn't find the 2007 Training Camp schedules on ESPN or NFL.com. I would think it would be on the fron page, but that's just me. Anyway, here's the link for Yahoo Sports Unoffical 2007 Training Camp Schedule. You know what that means...Football Season is soon to follow!. (07/07/07). P.S. I still haven't eaton a hot dog.
I may never eat another hot dog again. I couldn't believe the amount of air-time ESPN news gave to this crap! I didn't even see any (NONE) highlights of the USA v. Mexico soccer game 2 weeks ago. I had to go to the Internet and find out the score. Who really cares about this? It's not even a sport. (07/05/07).
Soccer will probably never be as watched here in the USA as it is in the rest of the world. And that's a shame. This sport requires it's players to be in physical shape. It requires a lot of strategy and the players on the field are involved in a never-ending "chess match". This Sunday (6/24/07) Mexico and the USA will meet yet again. It should be a great game since these two countries have a rivalry to match all sports rivalries. Check out ussoccer.com and become a fan of this AWESOME sport. (06/22/07.)
Another No-Hitter for 2007 (June 12, 2007 - Justin Verlander, Detroit (AL) vs. Milwaukee (NL), 4-0.). This rare occasion in baseball is one to celebrate....no matter if it's not your team. Imagine, these atheletes practice, practice, practice to hit that little ball. The first No-Hitter in 2007 was accomplished by Mark Buehrle (April 18, 2007 - Mark Buehrle, Chicago White Sox vs. Texas, 6-0). The one good thing for the White Sox this year. CONGRATS TO BOTH OF THEM. They are in the history books. (06/12/07).
Here is a shout-out to my friend Ron. He recently got accepted to the CHP Academy. Ron will start his 7 month training next month. May God bless you on your future career. To everyone out there on the California highways......WATCH OUT!!! and keep one eye on your rear-view mirror, he,he, he. (05/31/07).
Danica Patrick and Michelle Wie are two of today's most visible and popular women sports stars. Sure, there's the WNBA but most people think it is not that great of a league. Well, back to DP and MW...the one thing we are waiting from both of them is a win. But I wonder why they haven't won. Are they just not good enough? Too much pressure? Whatever it is, I will be very happy for either of them when that day comes. (05/31/07).
The big sport news for the past 2 days is that Kobe Bryant is not happy anymore in Laker land. Does he really want to be traded or does he only want to be heard? My take is that he only wants to be heard. He wants to have another championship back in L.A. and he needs to do whatever it takes to do it. If he leaves the Lakers, then L.A. will NOT have any real sports team. THAT WON'T HAPPEN!!! (05/30/07).
David Beckham will join the Galaxy next month. I am very curious as to how this will affect Soccer (Futbol) here in the USA. I believe this is good thing as long as he plays all-out. I hope it isn't just a marketing ploy. Like Hockey, Soccer is a very intense game if you know what to "look" for. Many people in this country think it's a boring game, but he can change that sentiment in no time. (05/26/07)
What has caused the disappearance of Hockey? Was it the loss of the ESPN broadcast? Boring Game? Or What? I don't understand it. The playoff games are 10 times better than NBA playoff games (can you say San Antonio non-sellout). Hockey is a great rush to watch. Other than the senseless fights, it's a fast paced, exciting game. Bring hockey back to ESPN and more people will get into it. I miss watching it. (05/21/07).
This edition of other worthy news is about me: I finally landed a job after 5 months of unemployment. I would like to thank family and friends who prayed and (everyone else) who supported me through this. I think this is a good position and I am looking forward to it. While it's been stressful at times, I have learned a lot from this experience. FORWARD!!! (05/18/07), changed on 7/15/07.
Dale Earnhardt Jr is leaving DEI at the end of this NASCAR season. It seems that he and his stepmom could not come to terms of DEI ownership. Let me see if I have this right? Jr wanted 51% of the company, the "wicked stepmom" didn't want to give it up. We have to be worried about everyday expenses. We worry about our twice-a-month checks, and these 2 are haggling about "power". I say, "Jr, grow-up and "mom", what's more important......money or family???. (05/10/07).
So Roger Clemens is coming back as a Yankee? To quote him, "They came and got me out of Texas". Did he go kicking and screaming or was the 28 million have something to do with it? He also said, "Make no mistake about it, anything less than the World Series title will be a failure". That seems familiar from last year's saying with the Astros. Why does everyone make such a big deal about this guy? He has no loyalty other than the money. This baseball player just rubs me the wrong way. The Yankees only want to buy the World Series year after year. THEY WON'T DO IT!!! (05/07/07).
Yeah, yeah. ALL the boxing experts said that Mayweather won the fight. That may be technically correct, but what I saw was the so called Pretty Boy just back away from De La Hoya (the older fighter). I gained more respect for the Golden Boy and just felt more disdain for the [champ]. 05/06/07.
Mr. Wally Scirra died on 5/3/07 at the age of 84 of a heart attack. He was a space pioneer, astronaut and real-life hero. He was a real hero. RIP and God bless. Official Site. (05/03/07).
It feels like Football season once again. The 2007 mini-camps have begun. I've often wondered what millionaires do in these camps that they ca't do during the off-season. If you are interested in this sort of thing, here's the Schedule. (05/02/07).

The Raiders signed Daunte Culpepper just a few days ago. He will try again for the 3rd tie to joing a new team after a devastatig knee injury. While I was never a "follower" of this QB, I applaud his efforts for NOT giving up. But for how long will he enjoy this new team.....until the current crybaby QB Demarcus Russell gets his big payday. (08/3/07). |

Briggs will ONLY make $7.206 million dollars this season because he wasn't able to get a long-term contract before today's deadline. He now is threatening to sit-out the first 10 games. When I hear these kinds of stories from the already paid-way-too-much "athlete" just make my blood boil. I don't even make 1% of his "franchise" salary, but if I sat-out, let's say the first 10 days, my ass would be fired sooner than I could blink. Oh, I forgot, Asante Samuel is slated to make ONLY $7.79 million. BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR MY WEB PAGE TO START A FUND FOR THESE 2 UNDERPAID PLAYERS. PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY!!!. (07/16/07).

Finally some good news about an NFL player. Read this story about Drew Bress (QB for the Saints). We keep hearing about the Me, Me, Me's on ESPN and the NFL channel. I came across this: Saints QB Brees gives Utah inmates pep talk. (06/16/07).

This time is a rave for the NFL. Specifically, Roger Goodell. I agree with all the suspensions whole heartedly. The players just don't get it. All the ESPN Analysts keep saying it "what are they thinking?" Enough said, GO ROGER!!! KEEP THOSE SUSPENSIONS COMING!!! (06/05/07).

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE NFL?. Everyday, we are subjected to some player complaining about this or that. Some want to do as they wish. Others act like the coaches are at faul. Criminal charges, DUI's and so on. If NFL is a business first, entartaintment second then why should we care so much about this game? Maybe it's way to relieve stress in our daily life. Maybe it's an escape for a lot of us, but we should stop seeing this people as role models. ALL they are very well paid adults who need to do a lot of growing up. I am a fan of this game, but I am also getting close to giving up watching this sport. (05/16/07).

I don't know if I would call this a RAVE, but Randy Moss can be good or VERY BAD for any team. I remember last year all those Raider Nation people had the Super Bowl won.....and look what happened? It's in his own hands to be a positive part of the 3-time champs. (05/02/07)

What do you think about the Brady Quinn draft? Did the Browns want to save some cash on a QB or did they have a plan all along?. They have a history of not treating their quarterbacks very good. Besides, who really wants to play for the Browns these days. The days of the DawgPoundare long, long, long gone. (05/02/07)

What is going on with the Bears? Tank Johnson, 100K Fines, The Coach battles for a fair contract!!!. If they are going to be a 2007 contender, they will need to stop all of this crap. Well, it may have stopped as of this RANT. But I still have to write something about them. BTW, Matt.....The Golden Compass, excellent read so far! (05/01/07)

So they got the 1st round draft. A rookie QB will not fix all the things wrong with this team. The new coach is probably younger than half of the players. Do you think players like Sapp will listen to a youngster? (05/01/07)

No real help in the 2007 NFL Draft. I'll wait and see about the off-season trades. . . (05/01/07)
