Yo Ho, Yo Ho, ’Twas a Booty Swap Shopping Spree!

Yes, I’m tongue tied! The Booty Swap Hop was great fun, and $265 is in the coffers to be donated to SCCA. If anyone wants to look over the things that are left and buy or donate another few $ it would be wonderful and get a little closer to our last year’s donation of $300. Many thank you's to everyone who brought items to sell as well as buying our wares. I realize that gas is expensive, the economy is down, and the fact that we have netted this much from a small group of dedicated cloggers is really gratifying.

Thanks to all the donated goods, we not only sold booty, but had contests and many happy prize winners. Our big winner was Ray White who won both the treasure chest guess netting $38.25 and the convention shirt. Congratulations Ray! We danced to the Yo Ho song which especially made my day! I loved it!

A special big thank you to those who came early to help: Jean Ableson, Barbara Law, Pat Nighswander, Ron Schmidt, and some in the beginner class. Many helped at the end of the evening. It was a big job and all the help was greatly appreciated. Jean Ableson, Barbara Law and Doris Hus manned the battle stations of cashiering and sea shell fishing. Cathy Ewbank, our president, brought us the special brownies. Julie was superb, as always, and ably assisted by Evy Eisele to keep us all up and dancing.

As your representative to SCCA, I am very proud of the the support our club has shown in helping with the convention expenses. I hope as many of you as possible attend convention in August. You have helped make it happen and you will have a great time. Registration flyers are available in class or here. If you register before May 15 you can take $5 off the price of a 3-day admission.

Final proceeds: $316 - thanks to the final closeout shoppers and some generous additional contributions from members. THANK YOU!
