DR. BOB STEBBING'S PERSONAL PROFILE

BobBEGINNINGS: Bob was born in Bakersfield, California in 1958 and grew up in Southern California.  Music has always been a big part of his life.  His grandfather was a professional musician and instilled in him a love for music; his Catholic grandmother helped plant in him his first concepts of love for God.  His mother gave him his first clarinet, and his father taught him to value relationships during his pursuit of music.

MUSIC: All through High School Bob performed in the Southern California area with the Jazzland Band.  His group played for political rallies, Busch Gardens, Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, the Actors Club in Hollywood and cast parties at KTLA.  For three years his personal manager kept encouraging him.  It was through those experiences he realized that music can bring joy into the lives of others.  During his college years, he freelanced on sax and clarinet, working for the Fullerton Civic Light Opera Company and as a studio musician.

NEW LIFE : Bob's spiritual journey began toward the end of his senior year in college during a time when he began thinking seriously about life and the future.  A friend took him to a Christian concert at Calvary Chapel on a summer evening in 1980. It was shortly after that when he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. (How to accept Christ)

MUSIC EDUCATION : Bob received his B.M. Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance in 1980 at Cal State University Fullerton.  It was there he studied clarinet under Kalman Bloch of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. He studied instrumental conducting under Dr. Keith Clark of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra.  He toured with the University Wind Ensemble under Benton Minor and played tenor sax in the Morning Jazz Band.  He also performed with the University Orchestra, Woodwind Quartet, and played in many recitals.  Bob studied song writing at Azusa Pacific University and also did his graduate work in choral conducting at APU under Dr. Gary Bonner.

AUDIO ENGINEERING: His Recording Engineering background comes from course work at Sound Master Recording Engineer School, an Audio Video Institute in North Hollywood under the late Brian Inglesby. He earned his Engineering Certificate from the Audio Institute of America in San Francisco.  He also finished an A.S. Associate of Science Degree in Recording Technology, an A.A. Associate of the Arts Degree in Electronic Music, and an Audio Engineering Certificate from the new Recording Technology School at Citrus College. Bob has also been a voting member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES).

POST GRAD: Bob's theological education came from his Brethren in Christ study program while on staff at his previous church.  He has also completed a certificate program in Biblical Counseling and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He earned his M.Min. Master's in Ministry Degree in Christian Administration from Master's Graduate School of Divinity and a D.B.S. Doctorate in Biblical Studies in Christian Administration from Master's International School of Divinity.

FAMILY: Bob and Donna met while touring together in a Christian Gospel band in 1981 and were married in 1982.  They formed a contemporary Christian band with Donna as lead singer and played together for seven years touring the West Coast and Canada.  Bob & Donna and their two daughters, Sarah Bethany and Krista Noel, started attending Cornerstone in 1988.  Bob began his duties as part-time Worship Pastor the following year and two years later began ministry full-time at CBC.  Bob and Donna traveled on a music missions trip to spread the gospel in Fiji and New Zealand during the summer of 2007.

JOB DUTIES PAST AND PRESENT

MUSIC: Bob's duties for the last 18 years as Cornerstone's Worship Arts Pastor included the public ministry of leading the praise and worship services, as well as administrating and shepherding those involved in the vocal, instrumental, drama, technical and recording studio ministries.   Each week Bob rehearsed the choir, coordinated the order of service with the Senior Pastor, created the music arrangements for the worship teams, prepared the Power Point lyrics slides, assisted the sound tech in the platform set up, rehearsed the Sunday morning worship band, advised the sound team, led the worship singing during all three Sunday services, maintained the audio equipment, oversaw the directors of both student choirs, trained three interns, maintained the Worship Arts website, and chaired the Worship Arts Committee. He has produced and engineered seven recordings for Cornerstone Bible Church, and produced 18 Cornerstone Christmas programs, 18 Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, 18 Easter Sunday Services at Azusa Pacific University, Two Night of Hope Worship Concerts at Citrus College, and 6 Patriotic Celebration Services at Cornerstone. He toured as a vocalist with Continentals Singers in 2007 to New Zealand and Fiji.

ADMINISTRATION: Beginning the summer 2007, Bob changed positions and assumed the duties of Executive Pastor at Cornerstone Bible Church.  He participates in the church staff administrative and prayer meetings, the ministry staff vision meetings, and the pastoral staff meetings.  Bob oversees Staff Development, Facilities Management, Facilities Personnel, Events Setup Personnel, Office Manager, Church Business Manager, Ushers, Greeters, Holy Grounds, Craftsman Team, and Life Call Ministries. Current assignments include improving church communications through an upgraded web ministry and office data sharing software, improving the church campus through a new craftsman team and master plan committee, increasing space for Sunday School, and increasing involvement in ministry through a more volunteer friendly environment and service enlistment team.

LEISURE : His outside interests include freelance recording engineering and training at Bill Underwood Studios in Palm Springs, and sound system evaluation and diagnostics for local churches.  He enjoys date lunches with his wife, singing harmony with his daughters, decaf in the morning, pizza and a video, camping at Bass Lake, big band jazz, and building computers.  His mountain bike still has two flat tires, but walking works for now.
