Sarah's many awards reflect Sarah's love for the sport of swimming. On teams in Arcadia, Glendora and Azusa, she raced in free style, butterfly, breast stroke and back stroke. Long workouts and strategic practice gave her a competitive edge at swim meets all around the Southern California area. As her schedule fills up, she now swims on the Azusa team during the second half of summer.
At Cornerstone Bible Church, Sarah is a dance captain in the Student Choir which specializes in creative movement and part singing. She performs solos, special music and sings with the Sunday Morning Worship Band. Along with her sister and two other friends, she formed a vocal group called Access. The group has performed special music on Sundays and at Cornerstone's Harvest Banquet at Azusa Pacific University.
For three years she performed with Golden Notes, the show choir in Middle school. That group toured to San Francisco and participated in musical events at Disneyland. During her sixth grade summer vacation, Sarah played clarinet in the Citrus College Youth Orchestra. Keeping all these groups and events balanced is a talent all its own! She is now part of the show choir in High School and traveled to Vancouver Canada.
Skiing has been a favorite family sport for her since she could walk. She likes Badger Pass in Yosemite, but has skied at June Mountain in California, and several ski areas in Utah.Drama is something Sarah enjoys too. She played an orphan in the musical Annie Jr. After six weeks of daily vocal rehearsals, dance workouts, and acting lessons, the final performance at La Verne University was very impressive. She also played two roles in a recent 10-week tour all over the US with Young Continentals.
Sarah enjoyed competition cheerleading. She practiced long and hard to learn dance moves, stunts, and cheers. She also takes Hip Hop dance lessons periodically to stay in shape for the show choir, CrossTalk and Young Continentals. She recently taught choreography with her sister Krista for the Continentals Strike Team preparing to minister in India. They also choreographed the Extreme Dance Team for Christmas 2005.
Summer camp and Winter Camp are always a highlight of the year. Sarah has enjoyed growth experiences at Hume Lake, Forest Home and Pine Summit. Sarah loves Jesus Christ and has dedicated her life to serving Him.
Sarah's passion is reaching the lost. This is most obvious during her short term mission trips with the Continentals. She she has done over 250 concerts in 37 States including Alaska and Hawaii, spreading the Gospel and witnessing to teens. The 34 member team presents a high energy concert including music, drama, and creative movement. She has ministered on six tours in the U.S. In 2006 she is toured for 4 months with Frontline Continentals in the US, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and mainland China. During the summer of 2006, she toured with Frontline and was also the Production Assistant. She is planning to go as Assistant Director next summer, and has auditioned for Jeremiah People, a small drama/music team that travels for 10 months spreading the Gospel throughout the world. She hopes to tour after graduating from high school this year.
